Calling All Girls! Check Out That One Girl
by Kaitlyn Mason
What a gem. I wish I had read this book when I was 13 years old. It was still helpful to me at age 28, and I recommend it to women and girls of all ages!
Christina Mead has written this book in a sisterly tone that is often cute & always honest. She takes the time to introduce girls to Mary, our Mother, in a loving way.
The book is also full of powerful quotes from women saints that have gone before us, illuminating our path to Heaven.
Best of all is Mead’s ability to share her own life experiences in a meaningful, tangible way for today’s youth. She addresses challenges of femininity from a Marian perspective, allowing girls an opportunity to be exposed to the beautiful truth of what Christ intends for each of us!
Couldn’t we all use a little help with these hot topics: perfectionism, body image, purity, emotions, anger, friendship, daily life, suffering, trust, & dealing with modern feminism? Couldn’t we all benefit from a deeper understanding of the rosary & Mary’s assumption & coronation?
This book is a quick read that’s jam packed with all of this awesome information. And it’s broken up into succinct chapters, so you can go back to it as a reference or refresher if you feel yourself slipping in a certain area.
It’ll give you a jolt of confidence in who you are as a woman.
“That One Girl” would make an excellent gift for anyone about to make their Confirmation!
Actually, it would also make a great gift for Mothers in crisis pregnancies who receive baby showers from the Mary Garden Showers ministry. We may be adding these to our Mothers’ gift baskets soon…
Buy it for a neighbor, a friend, a cousin, a co-worker’s daughter – you’ll be sure to touch someone’s heart. Or forward this post on to a friend so they can share this message of encouragement with a daughter or loved one.
